Terms of Service

Effective 27 September 2026.

These terms are the agreement between you and Carter for using runcarter.com, the Carter iPhone and iPad app, and the Carter service. By signing in or using the service you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data.

What Carter is

Carter is an AI sales-practice tool. You talk out loud to an AI “prospect”, and Carter scores the conversation and gives you coaching notes. You can also record a real sales conversation and have it scored. It is built for people who sell for a living. You must be 18 or older to use it.

Carter runs as a website and as an iPhone and iPad app. The app is distributed through Apple’s App Store under Apple’s standard licence terms. Apple is not a party to this agreement and has no obligation to support the app.

Your account

Carter is invite-only, and the app has no sign-up. You sign in with your invited email address and a password. Keep both secure: anyone who has them, or who can read your email, can sign in or reset your password as you. Give us accurate account information and keep it current. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

Acceptable use

Carter is for practising and improving how you sell. You agree not to:

  • record another person without whatever consent the law where you are requires;
  • say or upload things that are abusive, harassing or unlawful, or use Carter to produce them;
  • try to break, probe or overload the service, get around rate limits, or reach data that is not yours;
  • resell or scrape the service, or use it to build a competing product.

You are responsible for recording real conversations lawfully. We can suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

AI coaching is guidance

The prospect is an AI. So are the scores and the coaching notes. They exist to help you practise, and they can be wrong, inconsistent, or miss context that matters. They are not professional, legal or financial advice, and they are not a promise of results in a real sale. Use your own judgement.

Your content and our service

You own your recordings and transcripts. You give Carter a licence to store, process and analyse them, including by sending them to the providers named in our Privacy Policy, so we can run the service for you. That licence ends when the content is deleted.

Carter owns the service itself: the software, design, scenarios, prospects and scoring. You may not copy or reuse them outside Carter.

Beta, availability and changes

Carter is an early-stage product. Features will change, some may be removed, and the service may be unavailable at times. We will try to give notice of major changes, but we cannot promise uninterrupted service or that any feature will stay as it is.

Ending things

You can stop using Carter at any time. You can delete your account from Settings on the website or in the app; deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. We can suspend or end your access if you breach these terms. If we shut the service down, we will give you reasonable notice and, where we can, a chance to take a copy of your data first.

Warranties and liability

Carter is provided as is. We do not promise it will be error-free, always available, or suited to your particular needs.

To the extent the law allows, Carter is not liable for indirect losses such as lost sales, lost profits or lost data. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, which is nothing if the service was free to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the place where Carter’s operator is established, as stated in the operator line at the end of this page.

Changes to these terms

If we materially change these terms we will update the effective date at the top and email account holders. Continuing to use Carter after that means you accept the new terms.
